Women In Science

Women in Science
In celebration of International Women’s Day 2023, Knowledge Tap Academy is dedicating the month of March to highlight on the education of girls in the STEM subjects – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
In schools, boys tend to be more interested in STEM fields than girls. This is often due to social and cultural norms that assign gender roles and expectations, leading girls to believe that they are not as good at math or science as boys but in recent years, more and more support and encouragement are given to girls to explore their interests in these subjects, namely Science and Mathematics. Young women have the potential to excel and become leaders in their field, and we can’t wait to see what they can achieve!
Having Inspiring Role Models

Ask anyone who’d first come to mind with the word “Physics” and Albert Einstein would be quoted. The lack of female STEM role models is a societal issue which Knowledge Tap Academy aims to solve with Equal Education for all. We hope to aspire and encourage more girls to take on STEM by providing exposure to incredible female role models.

There are many incredible female role models in STEM, such as Dr Fabiola Gianotti, who is an experimental particle physicist and the first woman Director-General at CERN Switzerland, or Dr Hannah Fry, UK’s mathematician, author, and presenter whose profound passion for the subject helps students comprehend complex concepts in a relatable and accessible manner. Mae Jamieson, a doctor, engineer, physician, and former NASA astronaut, is another exemplary woman who has made significant contributions to these fields.
It is time to break down the barriers that have kept girls from pursuing STEM fields and encourage them to follow in the footsteps of these trailblazing women.
Learn from the very best

At Knowledge Tap Academy, we have our very own ‘Women in Science’ role model, Ms Bevie Wee. She is an excellent Chief Math Tutor that has more than 9 years’ experience teaching O-Level, E and A-Math students. She has taught, guided and built lasting relationships with many students from all walks of life and helped them maximise their full potential over the years.

A-Math students. She has taught, guided and built lasting relationships with many students from all walks of life and helped them maximise their full potential over the years.

With one-to-one tuition or in an intimate group setting, Ms Bevie Wee’s passion for math and a deep understanding of the subject, allows her to motivate all her students, girls and boys, to love and excel in O Level Mathematics. We understand how tough Secondary School Maths could be. By having the right environment to study as well as the right tutor to guide them, it can help to boost their confidence in the subject. They may even be the next Hannah Fry breaking boundaries in the future!
